About the Founder and President

Michael J. Weeks was born in 1952 in Detroit, MI, where he attended an episcopal church during his youth. In February of 1981, he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. He was transformed through the Word of God under the ministry of Dr. Frederick K.C. Price at Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Three years, after accepting Christ, Michael met his wife of 39 years, Mary Weeks. The couple lived in California for many years, where they reared their three children and pastored the STH church. In February 2020, they relocated to Fort Worth, TX, and moved to the STH headquarters. They are presently active members of Eagle Mountain International Church.

Notable Achievements

Michael is a recording engineer, professional trombonist, and an arranger. He has been involved in performing arts for six decades and was a music director in the public school system for 43 years. He was the assistant director for the City of Los Angeles’ Kids of the Century, a children’s choir.

He was also the orchestra director at Crenshaw Christian Center and is the artistic director for STH,responsible for overseeing music, drama, and dance troupes. He serves as the executive producer for A Better Way of Life Radio Drama Series and evangelist for Can You Feel His Love? Crusades.

Michael worked at the Michigan State Fair as the Production Manager and worked with professional groups including: the Osmond Brothers, Andy Gibb, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Vinton, Sister Sledge, Al Green, and many others.

Education

Michael received a Bachelor’s Degree in 1975 in music from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, where he grew up. He also earned a Master of Music Degree in 2011 (specializing in Commercial Music) from California State University, Los Angeles. Michael's ministry training includes: Crenshaw Christian Center, Ministry Training Institute in 2000, and Billy Graham School of Evangelism in 2003.

The Founding of STH

STH was founded in 1985. From 1985 to 1992, Michael and Mary led ministry teams of musicians, actors, dancers, and rappers into many juvenile halls and youth detention centers in Southern California. They also took productions to college campuses, public schools, and churches, and they were involved in street evangelism.

From 1993 to 2001, they founded the STH church, hosting youth retreats, Friday youth nights, and concerts. The ministry also sponsored women’s retreats, fellowships, men’s advances (retreats), men’s morning prayer, jail ministry, and street evangelism.

Radio Drama Program

STH produces and airs a Better Way of Life Radio Drama Series, which deals with everyday life stories. These dramas give inspiration and hope in this complicated world. You may listen to our Radio Drama program found on our Teachings page

Mission

Our mission is to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the inner cities of America and abroad, to teach converts how to live, move, and operate in the Kingdom of God, and to teach believers how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:8.

We are committed to supplying Bible teaching on Kingdom Living through: Music, Drama, Liturgical Dance, Rap, and the Teaching and Preaching of the Word of God.
